Turning off diagnostics

The privacy settings contain an option to send diagnostic data to the phone manufacturer. Tapping this option pops up a message explaining why you should let your device send unspecified types and amounts of data to the phone manufacturer for, “improving our products and services.”

Sending this data to the manufacturer is optional, and can be considered a voluntary privacy leak. A default opt-in. To opt-out:

• Go to the Privacy settings, and look for a Send diagnostic data option.

• Make sure it is set to Off.
